I hope that you will enjoy spending time here, as we learn and grow together!  My goal in writing this blog is to help new and beginning gardeners gain a basic knowledge and understanding of perennials and how to plant and care for a perennial garden in zone 3 - 4. I live in Alberta where winters are long and cold so I understand the challenges that many new gardeners have when it comes to understanding what will  grow in our climate. Although this blog is mainly focused on perennial gardening in a colder climate, there are many helpful tips and information which you will find relevant no matter what zone you are gardening in. My hope is that I can inspire those of you who are just starting out on your perennial journey to develop a life long passion for plants and deepen your desire to nurture and care for your own little patch of earth.
